Ever find yourself wide awake in the middle of the night trying to solve problems you invented in your own head?
That was me earlier this week. My mind was busy holding onto unhelpful, uncomfortable thoughts. I was caught in a familiar loop of trying to fix what wasn't even real.
At some point, I started silently breathing in the word “let” and breathing out the word “go.” It helped me get back to sleep, but more than that, it reminded me how easy it is to turn letting go into another task on our to-do list.
Especially for high-achievers with loud inner critics, letting go can start to look like battling the voice in your head, trying to silence or suppress it. But resistance only fuels the fire. Trying to fix our thoughts by thinking harder just deepens the exhaustion.
Real letting go does not come from force. It comes from insight.
What shifted everything for me was seeing how my thoughts were showing up in my body.
Tightness.
Tension.
Restlessness.
Noticing that helped me move from resistance to realisation. I didn’t need to fight my thinking. I just needed to see that I was holding something that wasn’t helping.
Letting go is not a doing. It is what happens when you see clearly where your experience is coming from.
Not the world.
Not your circumstances.
But your state of mind in the moment.
From resistance to realisation. That is the power of insight.
If this resonates and you’re ready to move beyond overthinking and inner struggle, I invite you to book a Thriving Life Clarity Call. Let’s explore what’s possible when you stop trying to fix and start seeing differently.
